The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Pécs-Baranya strengthens and develops the economic potential of the county and region with its own resources, and with the help of domestic and EU funds. On the one hand, the aim of the chamber is to provide a wide range of support to developing family companies in the SME sector, that are already working here and are strongly connected to the local ecosystem, and to involve the government, local governments and the university in this work. On the other hand - in addition to activating the existing development potential for the county - it is also a task of the chamber to attract knowledge-intensive industrial investments employing between 25 and 500 people. One of the main tools of organization of economy is the enhancement of local collaborations along the exploration and identification of entrepreneurial competencies.
As a member of the Enterprise Europe Network, the chamber has been working on international trade development and innovation programs and projects for more than a decade, creating international visibility and potential business connections in Baranya county. The international business, technology and tender partner search database is a useful help for entrepreneurs in the region (http://pod.pbkik.hu).
It provides companies with a number of R&D&I services and economic development activities, such as intellectual property protection, intellectual property management, technology audits and technology transfer, creating international technology profiles for ideas / research results and helping them to be marketed.
The chamber uses various databases to provide access to information during business, technology and research & development partner searches. The chamber uses international innovation management assessment tools - IMP3rove and Innovation Health Check - as benchmarking options.
The National Research, Development and Innovation Office asked the CCI Pécs-Baranya in addition to the Baranya County Government Office to prepare and compile the county's SMART (S3) strategy, so the manufacturing industry, and the mechanical engineering and electronics industries as key sector, will receive priority support in the future.
